On almost every track you can make a comeback, unless you are on SNES Rainbow Road ;D
If you are in a room at around your skill level or a bit lower, you can pass the other racers by taking shortcuts that need speed items. And if done correctly you can “smuggle” really good items into top spots.
I have done “bagging only” challenges with my friends and somehow my results were better than normal!
If you plan to try bagging only, I highly suggest a more speed-based combo, because all speed items use your vehicle speed. Ink-striker, Mach 8 and Sneaker are all good bagging combos because they have a good speed stat but still enough mini-turbo
