How to play inward drift

Inward drift bikes are the:

Yoshi Bike (has the same stats as Teddy Buggy) | Sport Bike | Jet Bike Master | Cycle | Comet Bike

The three main ways that outward drift vehicles and inward drift bikes are different:

1: Unlike outward drift bikes and karts, which slide when you turn, inward drift bikes do a sharp turn. But they build up mini turbos in the same way.

2: Hopping does not work to help you correct your alignment like with outward drift, and if you try to hop to correct your alignment you may make it worse.

3: When you drift using outward drift, you slow down slightly, and if you cancel a drift, you lose a ton of speed. But on inward drift you don’t lose speed while drifting, and if you cancel a drift, you won’t lose any either.

So, which one is better? Most players agree that outward drift is better–you have more control, you can re-align easier and you can *snake easier. But you make that decision for yourself, after you’ve learned how to use inward drift here:

How to drift:

Press R/ZR and press the joystick in the direction you want to drift (just like outward drift) but instead of turning in immediately, swerve out before turning in.

You sometimes have to start drifts earlier or later than you would normally–because of the slight turning delay.

*Drifting back and forth on a straight part of the track to get mini turbos.

I will definitely be playing in the “Play with Yoshi Bro!” tournament tomorrow (Saturday) Looking forward to it 😀
