Motion Glider

Whoa! How did that player just zoom out of nowhere?

Motion Glider! I’ll explain what it is and tell you how you can do it, too!

Drift off the end of a glider and let the mini turbo release (mini turbos release automatically after you drift past the glider panel) and then steer back to the middle of the road. This is called glider vectoring and it’s faster* than just going straight, and motion glider is a faster version of this.

But to even perform motion glider, you need one more thing: tilt controls. When you enable tilt controls and tilt the controller and joystick in the same direction, you get a massive diagonal angle** and, therefore, way more speed. But tilt controls will usually mess up your driving, because the slightest controller tilt will turn your kart.

But there is a way to do motion glider without any major downside: A wired controller! Because wired controllers have no motion sensor, they can’t do regular motion inputs, but they can do them with the D-pad! If you tilt the D-pad and joystick in the same direction, then you will still get the same crazy curve!

I have been using a GameCube controller to do this, but the Nintendo Switch wired controller will also work!

*For some reason, moving diagonally in a glider is faster than just going straight.

**Nobody really knows why this is, and it only works in gliders. Note: If you try this on the road nothing will happen, you will just turn the same as normal.

TOURNAMENT UPDATE:
