How did I get a star in fourth? I’ll explain.
This is because of the distance-based item system–and the cannon glider. Because the cannon glider (a glider that shoots you out really fast) makes every player in front of you get really far ahead, the game thinks that you must be really far behind, and items in this game are distance based–not placement based.
On rare occasions I have even pulled bullets in 3rd because of this! And you can “bag” on almost any track with a cannon glider–and you don’t even need to be that far behind!

DK Mountain
