The art of sniping

It is so satisfying to land a clean snipe on an unexpecting opponent–in Mario Kart

What can you snipe with?

You can snipe with bombs, bananas, boomerangs, green shells and fire.

How to snipe:

You can land lag snipes by throwing your item slightly to the side of your opponent. You can check out my other blog post “how to benefit from online lag!” to learn more.

How to snipe with low lag:

To snipe with a green shell, you first have to predict your opponent’s future direction, and then aim your green shell there, because green shells don’t move very fast.

To snipe with a boomerang, you… just throw it at your opponent and it will somehow hit, which is good for you if you’re the one trying to snipe. But it’s bad if you’re the one being sniped! 😅

To snipe with a single fire flower ball, you have to throw it into your opponent when you’re close, otherwise they can hear it and react.

To snipe with a banana or bomb, you need to throw it in a good line right before they reach it, so they have no way to avoid it. This is the same for sniping with a bomb.

How to avoid being sniped:

Stay inside on turns, constantly move on straightaways and always look behind you after item boxes to see if your opponents have attack items.

I will post my first “Track Guides” blog post next week. If you have any suggestions for a track that I should cover for my first post please let me know! 😸
